The Culture Values Approach
The project relies on a combination of different methods. Primary it contains action research based on the models of Managing Diversity and the Balanced Scorecard.
Managing Diversity consists of three different principles: the discrimination-and-fairness paradigm, the access-and-legitimacy paradigm and the learning-and-effectiveness paradigm. The last mentioned paradigm focuses the learning of an organisation and the economical use of diversity. By means of a broadly based analyse of an organisation, concerning strategies, cultural aspects and internal procedures, a foundation will be constructed on which the mentioned paradigms can be successfully implemented. Thus internal conflicts will be reduced in order to provide a productive working environment for the employees, which finally leads to enhanced economic results, whereas participation raises the success of the innovation.
With the Balanced Scorecard the attention of the management will be directed from the traditional, financial view to an overlook, which includes all relevant parts of the company. By using this method the current and future situations will be made measurable and revisable. During the realisation of the pilot projects in the companies, eight steps will be taken:
- Vision and Strategy
- Definition of concrete targets
- Derivation of a cause-and-effect diagram
- Definition and selection of measurement categories
- Development of a set of measures
- Implementation of the chosen measure
- Integration into the Management Information System
- Monitoring of the measurement categories and Controlling
More detailed information about the research design will soon be available on this page.
